Final fantasy X

hey all i figured might as well start up a ffx topic because quite frankly a game this awesome deserves it owne topic....and i need help....big time....please?

I finished X about a month ago haveing gotten all the aeons but that was about the only optional stuff i did after playing and completeing ffx-2 (missing one cutscene ment i didnt get the good ending wtf?) i started playing X again and thourght id try takeing on...THE DARK AEONS!...they owned me...it wasent a pretty sight..blood..and swords..and overdrive gauages all over the place

So as well as just in general anything to do with ffx can any one give me any tips on how to beat these dark menaces? (note i use a team of auron,yuna and tidus all with there fully powered ultimate weapons)

i never beat the game...snifff...but i watched the ending i didnt care much for X-2

Ah, love that you've put up a thread for FFX. It is imo the best rpg that is out there. I totally loved the story, setting, characters, battlesystem and not to mention the awesome graphics it has(for being a game released in 2001).

So you're trying to beat the dark aeons huh? That's a tough one! I remember the first time I took them on, I equipped yuna with a bracer that had first strike. I would then grand summon Yojimbo and cross my fingers for a Zanmato. After several attempts they were defeated, one by one. That was until I tried the same tactic against Dark Yojimbo..You fight him three or four times I think, and you cannot save between the fights. So getting a Zanmato on first attempt at all fights was very unlikely.

I've seen several vids on youtube how to beat the dark aeons without zanmato, but it seems that you need almost maxed out stats and some heavy proofed equipment.
I guess you could train in calm lands to raise your stats, try out the different bosses there if you've captured enough fiends.

thanks for the advice lymmet iv litraly just beaten dark valfor after spending ages training in the omega ruins with my team i had them already thinking i was in for one hell of a tought battle when i just gave him one blast of animas oblivion overdrive and poof 1.5 million damage he's dead......my reaction around that stage was fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

dark ifrit gave me alot of trouble because he counters everything! but i just managed to beat him..then i got cockey and tryed to take on dark shiva without training more.....i got owned so bad but i might just try your zanmarto stratergy lymmet insted of spending another good knows how long grinding in the omega ruins XD.

and light i feel your pain jecht is a bugger to beat the first time round all id recomend is training a bit in the area where paths made of water are inside sin (the bit just before you fight seymore...again again again again) you get admatosies there which if you armour break them are easy peesy to beat and give a whole tonne of ap when beaten.plus try to equip weapons to all of them with ap double,overdrive to ap and triple overdrive/sos overdrive with that combo yourll rake in ap like crazy.

i see although i no longer have a ps2
i still have the game and play it on my computer lol
it is such a great game.
i do believe my favorite part is the wedding.
we gots to hurry she is gonna marry a pain in my ass

ohohoh light if yourv got it on your pc search for a program called FFXED i think you can use it to do loads of crazy stuff to your game like give tidus a bustersword and have three aeons summoned at once iv never tryed it my self but youtube full of videos of people doing it

hehe oh anima Xd which reminds me im actaly in the processe of makeing a flash cartoon based around the "daily explots" of anima and her girl son symore should contain much lols! but back on topic. i final beat dark valafor,ifrit and shiva now just ixion shiva got yojimbowned by zanmarto but im proud to say i beat ifrit and valfore all on my owne *throws mini party* how ever i am left thinking....damn iv nearly completed the monster arena..nearly done all the dark aeons...im gonna sad when i final put the controler down and think theres no more i can possibly get out of ffx ....and the sequal erghhh..in fact theres a good point what do you guys think of ffx-2?

my opnion on X-2......what the fu*@ did they do to yuna! and rikku for that matter it was almost a complete personality change and compared to X the game play and storyline where..kinda poor

agreed the best part was the 1000 words song yuna sings
x-2 was a fu$# up messed up yuna and rikku to much

and also what the fudge was going on with the aeons..they never even gave an explination as to why they where comeing back all dark ad scary but perfeticly easy like they attempted to fill a few plot holes to only bring up a million more lol

FFX-2 is considered a bad sequel to most people. But I think it's ok. Sure it misses a lot of things to make it as good as FFX, but it also featured some cool things imo. A new set of characters, battle system, areas and places and so on. And really liked how they show the past events in spira through the crimson spheres, makes the history of the FFX universe larger and solid if you all know what I mean ^^

I see where your coming from lymmet and i think by no means was X-2 a "bad game" and it was kinda interesting to have a bit more of spira's past filled in (includeing a very intresting comment by the kid named "shinra" about the planets life force hummm ff7 much?) but i think the reason so many people begrudge it was because it was just....way to girly...way way to girly and i think the decision to limit the party to just three party members when X had around 7 and it was a bit of a system shock going from "lalala i can take as long as i want to make my move" to "holy crap if i don't move with the next 5 second im dead!" but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing it took some time to readjust but i do quite enjoy X-2 old school style atb battle system.

As a game its great if it hadn't been ffX's squeal i think people would have rated it more highly but for me it just....was kinda to goofy for me considering what a sombre and deadly serious ending (and entire game in a way) FF10 had.
