Dissidia 012 [Duodecim] FF Review Empty Dissidia 012 [Duodecim] FF Review

Post by Light 23rd March 2011, 7:01 pm

Here is my review of Dissidia 012 [Duodecim] Final Fantasy
Feel Free to rep me for the hard work!!!

It's been about a year since the first Dissidia came out...Dissidia 1 was fun but lacked some things that could make it great!

Dissidia 012 adds on some new stuff that make it much better and some new characters from your favorite Final Fantasy games.

The Game Starts you off with a quick tutorial with Lightning from FFXIII, after the tutorial the game begins, Warriors of Cosmos are chosen and given their "Godly Light" that will grow in them trough battle and eventually make a crystal giving them the power to rival a god.
Cosmos informs the heroes that they must Defeat Chaos, so as they set out with their pre-crystals the game begins.

Some new features to Dissiadia 012 and one of my favorite is the World Map!
The World Map is well a world map, you move around the world with the character who's story you are playing, along the way you will see other characters in the game and talk to them. Also on the world map you will find items, and enemies that if you touch you go into battle with, you may also get the advantage on enemies by using the attack button on the for a first strike. (you can also break stuff in your way or open new paths)

World Map Screen:
Spoiler:

The battles in Dissidia are improved also, Players can now call on an Assist character in battle to help them fight for just a second.
Assist Characters can be set in quick battles to whoever you want, but during the story you get whoever is with your characters party at the time.
You can only call an Assist Character when 1 bar of the assist gauge is filled up
(Assist Gauge is located bellow your characters Hp bar)
You still move around on a grid like map when you are near key story points and engage chess like pieces that are enemies.

Battle Screen With Assist Bar Filled:
Spoiler:

The story to Dissidia 012 is a bit the same as the first but not exactly the same...
You still fallow character stories but the stories go in a certain order, so unlike the first one where you could pick whoever story you wanted in no order, you fallow a main story not 50 different stories. ( I like that)
In addition you will see more CG Cutscenes in this game, the the opening and the end in the first one.

As a special for you I have included a video of the opening to the game:
yes its a bit recycled (it should have a link to the english version if you like):
Spoiler:

All in all Dissidia 012 is a good game and is worth you time, the controlls take a bit to master but it's not hard.

My rating

[size=medium]8.5/10[/size]

I have included some extras bellow for you enjoy!

The game is truly amazing. you can even transfer dataa from your save of Dissidia to it and use what you used to have(excluding story mode) and even change your levels for an even greater challenge(not higher than the characters current level). I am not sure exactly how the level change works yet as I have not used it, but it is there. Kain and Laguna are my new favs (next to Golbez, Cecil, and Terra) Gilgamesh is bound to be, but i havnt unlocked him...and for that matter Ferral Chaos.

EDIT: Yuna is amazing Very Happy

I guess. But that would mean they would make a Dissidia 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 ans so on. But not a 12 if Duodecim means 12.

Light your info is wrong...Gilgamesh(or ninja raper) is on the side of Chaos.

And other than the unlockable 013 story, the entire story is different.

All in all though since I have gotten much furture than you and have more knoledge of the game, I should have done this review...
9.9/10 (a game that kicks so severe ass. Dont even bother getting its predicessor because this game will let yoou play the entire first game and more in it)
